The second clinic of Next Generation Project this time at Brouwersdam has been another great succes. A new spot, a new group and a new level! Brouwersdam is the homespot of coach Dieter and provides the perfect coaching play-ground for a clinic, especially in SW wind! The almost world famous windsurfing ‘pool’ gives mirror flat water, constant wind and standing depth water, all at one place which makes improving easy and fast! The level off this clinic was more a normal level compared to the extreme high level of the first one in Sardinia in the beginning of the year.
Main points for this clinic were: Jibing, tacking and helitacks in the light and stronger wind but also the first airjibes were attempted and almost landed as the first sail 360’s were done!
Besides the amazing sailing the rest of Brouwersdam was as perfect as the conditions, with 3 meals per day at the Restaurant of Zeil and Surfcentrum Brouwersdam we could fully concentrate on the coaching and could eat with a view on the water to check if the wind was picking up for the next session.
The accomodation this time was in tents at the campsite of Port Zeelande which is 10 min away from the spot and had a tropical swimming pool which we didn’t visit even once as our days were too busy!
In the end, after 6 days with 2 days of planning conditions and 3 days of normal sailing and one rest day, the level went up a lot. Stance on the board got better while planning, jibes got consistend , tacks got perfect for everyone and the first airjibes got almost landed !! The group was amazing again and at the end of the week everybody was tiered but sad to go home, including the coaches!
